So many people around us are hurting, quietly trying to cope with their struggles on their own. Most of us are well-practiced at covering up our feelings, and are uncomfortable sharing our difficulties with others. Whatever trials we are experiencing, though, we can find comfort in the one who understands. Isaiah 53:3 says “He was despised and rejected – a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief.” When I meet with Jesus alone, I don’t have to hide or suppress my inner turmoil. I can pour out my heart to Him and know he will listen with compassion. He is always available, always faithful, and always willing to hear from us. Hebrews 4:16 says, “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
