Reflections on Loss

Answers I Can Rely On

Peaceful 1
I have wrestled with many unanswered questions during this trial of loss. I could easily become consumed by my search for answers, but I am discovering that peace comes when I let go of those questions and instead focus on the answers that I have already been given.

When I wonder where God is in the midst of my pain, I find that he is near to me: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18)

When I ask God if he still cares, I am comforted by this description of his love: “He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart.” (Isaiah 40:11)

When I doubt if I can still trust God, I am reassured that “those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you”. (Psalm 9:10).

These and many other verses help sustain me as I continue along this path to
healing.
